Hazelnuts are a really exciting plants! They are a very tough, adaptable species that can produce a great deal of food or oil from a relatively small space. We are using them on our farm as a multi-functional windbreak to provide food, oil and propagation material. They are excellent in a coppice system as well to provide poles, firewood or biomass. Hardy to zone 5.

Our stratified seed this year was sourced from Burnt Ridge Nursery in Washington. We have seeds of Yamhill and McDonald available. Both parent varieties are highly resistant to Eastern Filbert Blight, however, seedlings will be genetically different from their parents and may not posses all the same traits.
