DeVilbiss SmartLink Module and Data Card

The SmartLink Module and Data Card is available for you to link directly to your machine to review your compliance data to ensure you are receiving accurate air pressure as you sleep. The most important part of therapy is using the machine so you can feel and see the changes it may have to your lifestyle. What better way to see it then to be able to directly view reports of your usage or on some devices, how effective the device is working for you? Stored data on the machine is transferred to a computer via a SD Card for analysis by the SmartLink software. This is a key feature for you to be able to communicate with your physician on how well or not so well you are doing.

You may want to know why it is important to keep up with your therapy, well here is your answer: Depending on which type of device you are on, fixed pressure CPAP (one set pressure or IntelliPAP Standard, Standard Plus or IntelliPAP Bi-Level S) or Auto-Adjusting CPAP (range of pressures that automatically adjust each night, IntelliPAP Auto Adjust or IntelliPAP Bi-Level Auto), there may be needs for minor pressure changes.

On a fixed pressure CPAP, you may need to know how well your sleep is going specially if you have changes in your lifestyle, weight or age. Many things alter how much pressure is actually needed whether it may be more or less. Keeping up with how you are doing allows for you to be able to make necessary changes with your physician to ensure you maximize your sleep potential.

On the Auto Adjusting machines, it is important to keep up so that you could potentially move pressures closer together. Some physicians will utilize the data retrieved to possibly adjust the minimum pressure and maximum pressure based on how you are doing.

Say you start your therapy at 4cm-20cm and the data shows your mean pressure is 9cm. A physician may look at that and move your lower to 7cm and your max to 11cm so that you don't have to go through the first couple of pressure before getting to the best therapeutic pressure while still allowing for movement of pressure throughout the night.
