Opera-barre was one of the most popular genres of the French Baroque period. It was enjoyable, with a large proportion of dance music and sometimes comedic elements, and this "Elegant Indian Countries" by Rameau is considered a representative work of the genre." The story consists of four omnibuses on the theme of "love," with the first story set in Turkey, the second in Peru, the third in Persia, and the fourth in uncivilized America. The four stories are about lovers who are torn apart, about a god who intervenes between two people who love each other, about two pairs of lovers who end up with different partners, and about a daughter who is courted by two men but ends up with her true love, which of course requires dancing. It is a work that is even more comprehensible when seen on film. The dancer prodigy Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, who directed the documentary "Babel of Dreams" (BAC064) released in 2010, talks a lot about multiculturalism, identity, and his own thoughts, and in this "Elegant Countries of India In "Elegant Countries of India," he incorporates the tensions and religious beliefs of countries that were "foreign" to European society in the 18th century, and presents them in a stunning visual presentation.
