This vintage Castelbajac dress makes a real design statement! Castelbajac is best known for his use of bright colors and graphic patterns, so this dress is a bit of a departure in that sense. The cut is square, and almost boxy, which is consistent with his esthetic. The bodice is designed with dropped shoulders and wide kimono sleeves that can be rolled up or left longer for a demure look. I think of it as a kangaroo dress because of the distinctive "pouches" . The upper pouch is unlined, and easily accessible from both sides. The lower pouch sits between natural waist and hips. That part of the dress fits snugly on my spokesmodel, similar to a yoke. The two heavy duty brass zippers give access to the lined lower inner pouch.
SIZE: No size label. I would estimate it as a small. It is not pinned on my spokesmodel.
