Van Morrison
Description:
Van Morrison's Skiffle Revisited! Born in the United States in the first half of the 20th century, skiffle is a genre of music influenced by jazz, blues, folk, roots music, country music, etc. It boomed in the UK in the 1950s and is considered the origin of UK rock. Van Morrison has loved the genre since childhood, and when he was still in school before his debut, he listened to Lonnie Donegan's "Rock Island Line" and intuitively knew the music inside out, playing in a skiffle band with a few guitars, a washboard, and a tee-chested bass. This is Van Morrison's interpretation of the skiffle that shaped the dawn of the pre-Beatles British scene.A work that once again expresses my love for this genre! Guests:Dave Keary (g), Pete Hurley (b), Colin Griffin (ds), Sticky Wicket (washboard) and others. Seth Lakeman, currently a Brit-folk favorite, also plays fiddle on five tracks. Red color vinyl!
