(Original release: 1969/ATCO Records)A southern singer-songwriter from Dallas, Texas, known for his 1972 solo masterpiece backed by Nicky Hopkins (p) and others, as well as for his songs for Eric Clapton and Bonnie Raitt, Jerry Williams was also a member of the trio High Mountain Hodown. This is his substantial recording debut, a hidden masterpiece of early LA swamp with edgy rock sound and Williams' bluesy, austere vocals. The album also features covers of "The Weight" (The Band) and "Goodnight Irene" (Redbury).
